One of the interior feature in my project is the circulation elements cutting through the exhibition spaces. The public staircase is designed to enhance the spatial experience. The orientation of the staircases are angled following the language of the overall building design (utilising the optimal 45 deg. ) The staircases are visualized to be modern following the language of the building. The floating steps create a lightweight structure on the limited space oof the shophouse. The material are chosen specifically to match the overall interior concept with the combination of metal and wood.
Additionally, the faceted elements on the reception table are further extended to the backwall creating a “wall feature” in the entrance and retail area. The construction techniques applied are similar to the reception table, utilising wooden frame structure and cladded with metal surface.
