The focus of this week is to create a compelling narrative that connects both the set of furniture and the interior planning of The Majestic. The furniture catalogue is as below. The furniture set is inspired by one of Chinatown’s most vibrant social activities – Chinese Chess. The chairs are designed to be compact and versatile, allowing the elderly to move them around with ease. A grid is abstracted from the chessboard as well and used as guiding lines for the placement and configuration of furniture, to create social groups of varying sizes.
